Today we’re looking back to a project we completed last November for a job called Willowbank, near Chichester. It is a stunning frame, involving dramatic curves in the main frames and a fully hipped roof at each end.
The frame needed to be glazed all round so the vertical timbers are sized and spaced accordingly, and there are impressive double doors on the long side.
This was an interesting example of a job that was completed through a builder and not directly with the client. The builder sent detailed drawings showing the outline of a frame design for Willowbank, and we created a working oak frame to fit with those parameters. All communication was done via e-mail or phone, with just one site visit by us to check that the site preparation of foundations and brick work was correct.
