An oak framed garage is often a fabulous way to improve space on your property without compromising on aesthetics. If you have spent money and time on a beautiful timber home then the last thing you want to spoil it is an unsightly concrete or metal garage. Or perhaps you simply want to add an element of style to your grounds – an oak garage can transform this simple structure for storing cars into something truly desirable.
Our garages can be created in the rustic or modern style – designed to merge seamlessly into barn properties, or a sleek and contemporary timber facade to a very practical space. We can incorporate these garages or barns as an extension of your home, or design them to be free-standing. There is also the opportunity to further capitalise on extra room. Many of our clients have commissioned garages that have rooms above them, perfect for that office space or guest room.
Our latest garage project is in Farleigh, Somerset, and you can see here the car space complements the rest of the barn conversion beautifully.
Like all of our buildings, our oak garages and barns use traditional mortise and tenon joints and are held together using handmade oak pegs, and the addition of wide curved braces and oak cladding makes for an attractive and practical design.
An oak framed garage or other outbuilding may also not require planning permission – this is something we can help you ascertain after meeting and surveying the property. You can view a selection of our garages here.
